Bodices can either be 1-Piece (Russian Style), or
2-Piece.
If a 1-piece bodice style is selected, the bodice is connected directly to the tutu skirt at the netting and the basque is made of 100% cotton coutil for comfort and durability and hidden under the bodice. For a 1-piece bodice style, a stretch fabric is used for a form-fitting result. Boning is added at the center and side front seams for extra support, unless otherwise requested. (The photo samples on this page are of 2-piece style bodices. Click here to see an example of a 1-piece bodice style.)
With a 2-piece bodice style, bodices and basques are made of the highest quality cotton/rayon bengaline and lined in 100% cotton coutil for comfort and durability. Bodices are six- or eight-panel, depending on the client's wishes (samples shone below are eight-panel). Boning is added at the center and side front seams for extra support, unless otherwise requested.
All bodice edges are finished with 1/8" cording covered in
matching bias-cut fabric.
Bodices are fastened with hook and eye tape and sent to you with the hooks sewn and eyes un-sewn with instructions so you can sew it on for an exact fit. Elastic shoulder straps are connected only on the front for the same reason. Please see the Net and Tulle Color Card and Bengaline Color Card for available colors.
